How to Prep for your GMAT Test Day!


Tips to follow on the test day:

  • Know the test centre location: Make sure you know the exact address of the test centre and how to get there. Plan your transportation ahead of time to avoid any delays or last-minute issues.


  • Bring appropriate identification: Make sure you bring a valid, government-issued photo ID that matches the name on your GMAT registration. DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!


  • Follow the test centre rules: The test centre will have specific rules and regulations that you must follow. These may include restrictions on what you can bring into the testing room, what you can do during breaks, and how you must conduct yourself while taking the exam. Do take a face mask with you as it may be mandatory to wear one at the test centre.


  • Arrive early: Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled test time. This will give you enough time to check in, go through security, and get settled in before the test starts.


  • Dress comfortably: You will be sitting for several hours, so wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate for the testing environment. Consider dressing in layers, as the test centre temperature may fluctuate.


  • Take advantage of breaks: You will have two 8-minute breaks during the exam. Use this time to stretch, use the restroom, and eat a snack if needed.


  • Stay calm and focused: The GMAT is a challenging exam, but it's important to stay calm and focused throughout the entire testing period. Take deep breaths if you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, and stay positive and confident.


  • After the exam, review your performance: After completing the exam, you will receive your unofficial scores for the Quantitative and Verbal sections. Take the time to review your performance and identify areas for improvement.



Tips for the GMAT exam day:

  • Wake up early: Make sure to get a good night's sleep and wake up early on the day of the exam to give yourself plenty of time to prepare and get ready.


  • Eat a nutritious breakfast: Eat a healthy, nutritious breakfast to give your brain the fuel it needs to perform at its best. Avoid heavy or greasy foods that may make you feel sluggish or uncomfortable.


  • Check your GMAT registration: Double-check your registration details, including the test centre location, time, and required identification documents.


  • Arrive at the test centre early: Arrive at the test centre at least 30 minutes before your scheduled test time. This will give you enough time to check in, go through security, and get settled in before the test starts.


  • Review the GMAT exam format and instructions: Use the tutorial time before the exam starts to review the exam format and instructions so that you feel comfortable with the interface and know what to expect.


  • Take the exam: During the exam, stay calm and focused, and remember to manage your time effectively. Use the scratch paper provided by the test centre to jot down notes or work out problems.


  • Take breaks: Take advantage of the two 8-minute breaks during the exam to stretch, use the restroom, and eat a snack if needed.


  • Review your unofficial scores: After completing the exam, you will receive your unofficial scores for the Quantitative and Verbal sections. Take the time to review your performance and identify areas for improvement.


  • Celebrate and relax: Whether you achieved the score you were hoping for or not, take the time to celebrate your hard work and relax after the exam.
