All About TOEFL

The TOEFL 2022 exam format includes English reading, writing, speaking, and listening. TOEFL Reading and Listening parts are made up of MCQs, with a total of 58-79 MCQs in these two sections. TOEFL writing portion tasks are descriptive. Candidates must submit brief to long answers to the questions asked during the speaking segment. The TOEFL exam lasts approximately three hours.

TOEFL results are available online six days after the test begins. The final score is calculated by adding the points from all four skill areas. Aside from that, when registering for the TOEFL, candidates have the option of selecting up to four universities to which they can send the score report. As a result, after the TOEFL results are announced, ETS delivers official score reports directly to the universities the

student has chosen.

TOEFL Reading Pattern

Description: In this section, you will read three to four passages and answer ten questions about each one. The number of correct reading comprehension responses is used to score the section.

Types of question:

● As prompts, 3-4 reading sections of approximately 700 words are offered.

● Each passage will be subjected to ten questions.

● Total number of questions: 30-40

● Time span: 54-72 minutes

TOEFL Listening Pattern

Description: You will hear lectures and conversations in campus language during the Listening test segment. This component assesses the test taker's ability to interpret English conversations and lectures. Listening to fundamental comprehension and comprehending, linking, and synthesizing information are all part of it.

Types of question:

● 3-4 lectures (3-5 minutes, approximately 500-800 words), 6 questions each

● 2-3 dialogues (about 3 minutes, approximately 12-25 exchanges), 5 questions each

● Time span: 41-57 minutes

TOEFL Speaking Pattern

Description: To achieve the best possible score in the Speaking Section, your responses must meet the requirements of the task with only minimal errors or lapses. The test graders are searching for a discourse that is both understandable and sustained. The section's scoring is determined by three major factors: delivery, language use, and topic development.

Types of question:

● 1 independent task (prep time: 15 sec; response time: 45 sec)

● Three integrated tasks: read, listen, and speak

● The total number of questions is four.

● Total time: 17 minutes

TOEFL Writing Pattern

Description: The two essays should each successfully handle a single issue. The response should be well-organized and developed, with pertinent explanations and extensive support. It should also demonstrate unity, growth, and coherence. If you want to get a high writing score, make sure you show syntactic variation and appropriate word choice while avoiding minor grammatical errors.

Types of question:

● One integrated task (Read/Listen/Write) (20 minutes) (reading time: 3 minutes; listening time: 2 minutes; writing time: 15 minutes)

● 1 autonomous task (30 minutes)

● The total number of questions is two.

● Time allotted: 50 minutes

TOEFL Exam fee

TOEFL Fees in India: The TOEFL exam registration price varies by location. In India, the TOEFL exam costs US$190, or Rs. 15145.36 ($1=79.71). Aside from that, candidates must pay extra for services such as late registration, rescheduling the exam, and score review.

TOEFL Test Scores

Candidates must understand how each portion of the TOEFL exam is graded in order to comprehend their TOEFL exam score. Candidates receive an email from ETS when their exam results are available six days after taking the exam. TOEFL scores can be found online. Candidates' printed score reports are emailed to them 11 days following the TOEFL exam date.
